The XCG driver is an engineering breakthrough that combines an ultra-lightweight, magnesium crown with a heavier hyper-steel body, and a titanium cupped face. An industry first, the magnesium crown and hosel creates and extreme deep center of gravity position and high moment of inertia for longer, straighter drives.

The XCG’s magnesium crown is two times lighter than typical titanium crowns. That combined with the titanium cupped face, moves more weight lower and to the rear of the sole than is possible from any current driver design on the market. The result, the XCG produces very little spin and a high MOI for longer drives. Another benefit of magnesium is the material’s flexibility. The crown and neck of the XCG are able to absorb more of the shock on contact for a smooth, powerful feeling at impact – a feeling only the XCG’s magnesium hosel and crown can deliver.

It is also revolutionary in that it features no-weld technology to blend the three dissimilar metals together. The club’s titanium face, magnesium crown and hyper steel body feature interlocking channels that are pressed together and combo bonded for permanent bonding without welding. Exotics XCG Fairway Woods

The previous incarnation of the Exotics fairway woods were the longest
hitting fairway woods in the world. Tour Edge weren't satisfied and have produced something even longer, the XCG.

Unlike past Exotics models, the XCG features a 50% larger titanium cup face and crown combined with a shallower face height for greater forgiveness and a higher flight pattern. While its predecessor, the Exotics CB2 model, is designed for enhance workability and a more penetrating ball flight, the XCG’s larger, deeper club head further enhances moment of inertia (the club’s ability to resist twisting) making it the easiest to hit Exotics fairway wood yet according to company officials.

The XCG also boasts a faster ball speed than previous Exotics models, compliments of an ultra-thin, titanium cup face equipped with variable thickness technology. The face’s slimmer outer edges produce the maximum rebound allowed by the USGA for blistering shots from anywhere on the face. By combo-brazing the face to its heavier steel body without welding, the XCG also displaces more weight to the sole. The net effect is a low, deep center of gravity (CG) position and more power and leverage at impact.
